J.C. Moag Glass Fabrication + Tempering – Lanesville Business Park
Project Location – Research Boulevard/Areva Drive, Lanesville, Indiana
Public Incentive – The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered J.C. Moag up to $165,000 in conditional tax credits and $24,000 in training grants based on future job creation. Harrison County Economic Development Corporation included additional performance based job training incentives of $3000 per new job created in the first 3 years of operation up to a total of $150,000.
Project Description– J.C. Moag will be investing $8M into a new high-tech glass fabrication and tempering facility in Harrison County, and creating up to 50 jobs. This will be the second addition to the Lanesville Business Park.
Areva Pharmaceutical – Lanesville Business Park
Project Location – Research Boulevard/Areva Drive, Lanesville, Indiana
Public Incentive – Indiana Income Tax Credit- $2 million and $200,000 for Job Training from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Local support from the Harrison County Economic Development Corporation.
Project Description– The I-64 Interchange at Lanesville was constructed in 1974 when the Interstate was completed to St. Louis. After many years without adequate infrastructure to attract business growth, the Harrison County Regional Sewer District and the Town of Lanesville began cooperating to extend wastewater service to the interchange area. When Areva Pharmaceutical contacted the Economic Development Corp. about sites, we were able to obtain loan funds from the county to construct a building and provide the infrastructure to their site. This is the beginning of the Lanesville Business Park.
Trilogy Health Services
Location: Corydon, South of I-64 at the intersection of Pacer Drive and Corydon-Ramsey Rd.
Economic Development Corp participation: The property was purchased from the ED Corporation at a negotiated price that was very competitive given the location. The Corporation also assisted with the Site Development planning and permitting.
Project Description: The project, which includes a 55,000-square-foot assisted living facility and skilled nursing center
will bring about 110 jobs to the county, 65 percent of which will be full time. The main building will house 55 skilled nursing beds and 35 assisted living beds.
Ten duplex villas will have two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an enclosed garage. A small clubhouse will be built near the villas.
In 2010, the Harrison County EDC borrowed $1.6 million from Harrison County government to complete the infrastructure — roads, water, storm drainage and sewage — for the large undeveloped area between the Walmart Supercenter and Harrison County Hospital. After the change of ownership of a large portion of the property, the ED Corporation purchased the property and made it available to Trilogy for this project.
Bicentennial Park
Project Location – Corydon municipal parking lot at the 100 block of East Chestnut Street in downtown Corydon
Project Description – The Hometown Collaborative Initiative (HCI) brought together over 40 community leaders to collaborate on a community project that could be a leap forward for Harrison County. After almost a year of hard work, long meetings and countless hours of seeking community input, it was determined that Bicentennial Park would bring generations together, beautify a deteriorating area of downtown Corydon, and turn this space into a special place that the community can be proud of. This new park will be yet another reason for visitors and locals alike to come to downtown Corydon and shop, dine, and appreciate the sense of community. Funded through various public and private sources, the park is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016, Bicentennial Park will be the first park owned and operated by the Town of Corydon.
Fred Smith Store Fixtures
Project Location – Harrison County Industrial Park, 3700 Commerce Way NE, Corydon, Indiana
Public Incentive – Indiana Conditional Tax Credit and Job Training Grant $225,000 provided by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Local Tax Abatement was granted for $7 million plant and equipment. Local support was given from the Harrison County Economic Development Corporation.
Project Description – – Fred Smith Store Fixtures completed a new 70,000 square foot facility in the Harrison County Industrial Park. The new facility is expected to create up to 40 new jobs. These jobs are in addition to the 140 employed at its Depauw location.
Fred Cammack Corydon Farmer’s Market
Project Location – 124 S. Mulberry Street, Corydon, IN
Project Description – In May, 2015 the community celebrated the opening of Main Street Corydon’s new Fred Cammack Corydon Farmers’ Market. The old County Annex Building site at the corner of Mulberry and Poplar streets was sold by the county to Main Street Corydon for $1 which became the location for this exciting new venture. At market seasons end, the County Annex Building was demolished to make room for the new pavilion scheduled for opening May 6th, 2016. Harrison County Economic Development Corporation loaned support to the new market by rolling out the “Sprouts Bucks” program. The program was fully funded by HCEDC and helped provide a boost to support local farmers and artisans by providing incentives for Harrison County students and their parents to visit this new community gathering space.
Beanblossom Building
Project Location – Chestnut St., Corydon, IN
Project Description – Building was purchased as a rehabilitation project by a private investor in 2016 as a direct result of the adjacent Bicentennial Park project on the property’s east side. The building will be rehabilitated to include a commercial office and executive business suites on the first floor and 2 luxury apartments on the second floor.
